ARCHDALE, NC (September 18, 2008)- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team competed in South Georgia in a  O'Reilly Southern All Stars sanctioned event at Swainsboro Speedway in Swainsboro, GA. On Friday September 12th Earl competed in a 50-lap $5,000 to win feature event that drew 31 drivers from six states. Earl would qualify 7th and start the feature from the 7th starting position. Earl would navigate through the rough track conditions and moved into the top five finishing a strong 3rd place in the final run down. Then on Saturday September 13th Earl was suppose to compete at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA for a 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event but the promoter canceled the event due to a shortage of fuel in south Georgia over the weekend.
 
Earl and the team will travel to Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown IN this weekend and compete in the "Jackson 100" a $20,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. Earl has won at this track in 2007 winning the "Ice Breaker" a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. "Were excited about this weekend's event. We always run really well at Brownstown so hopefully we can get another win for our sponsors and Bobby Labonte this weekend", stated Earl. Earl currently leads the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series national point's standings with three races left on the 2008 schedule. Earl is trying to win his fourth Lucas Oil Series national championship in a row and his fifth national touring series championship in a row.
